Best Gifts for Any Coffee Lover
Coffee beans
Every coffee lover needs new coffee beans. If you know nothing about their setup or equipment, coffee beans are a tried and true option that you can be sure they’ll make good use of.
Koa Coffee Kona coffee Tri-Pack
Who it’s for: Any coffee lover that wants to try one of the world’s best specialty coffees.
Most of the best gifts are experiential, and real Kona coffee is an experience that every coffee drinker should try at least once.
I can guarantee that there are coffee fanatics in your life that wish they’d tasted real Kona. They’re probably just having a hard time convincing themselves to hit the buy button. That’s where you come in.
Oh, and don’t fall for those cheap grocery-store Kona blends. They are only about 10% Kona beans, and they taste absolutely nothing like 100% Kona.

Cooper’s Cask Coffee bourbon, whiskey, and rum barrel-aged coffee
Who it’s for: Fans of both liquor and coffee who enjoy unique experiences.
No, these ones don’t come in a cool barrel. They are something much cooler and very unique to the Cooper’s Cask brand.
Cooper’s Cask takes their green (unroasted) coffee beans and ages them in whiskey, bourbon, or rum barrels for months prior to roasting. That allows the beans to soak up the flavors and aromas of the spirits and charred oak.
The alcohol itself burns off during the roasting process, but the delicious taste still remains.

Coffee Gift Boxes
Gift boxes are a classic. The prettier packaging makes it clear that this was a planned-out gift and not a last-minute convenience store purchase.
Many of the best coffee gift boxes have something for everyone in the form of variety packs. The only thing better than opening a gift to find one exciting coffee is opening a gift to find four exciting coffees.
Volcanica World Traveler gift box
Who it’s for: Coffee fans who like variety and want to try a range of high-quality coffees.
Volcanica is one of the best coffee roasters in the world, both in terms of quality and variety. As such, it’s no surprise that they have some of the coolest and most unique coffee gift boxes.

Volcanica Coffee Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee barrel
Who it’s for: Coffee lovers who also cherish beautiful commemorative decorations.
This is probably the coolest packaging of any coffee gift box I’ve seen. Even after the coffee is gone, your loved one is going to want to hold onto this barrel as a reminder of one of the best gifts they’ve ever received.
But I’m getting ahead of myself. It’s what’s on the inside that counts.
Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee is one of the rarest and most highly sought-after coffees in the world. It’s known as the Rolls-Royce of coffees, and consistently makes the list of must-try coffee experiences.
The only thing better than receiving a once-in-a-lifetime experience is receiving it in a beautiful novelty package that is worth displaying for all to see.
Coffee Mug Gifts
Ember temperature control smart mug
Who it’s for: Geeks, nerds, and general tech lovers who also enjoy their coffee.
The Ember is my absolute favorite mug. There’s nothing worse than taking a sip of a cold coffee. You could just drink your coffee faster, but some of us like to savor the brew.
Unlike other temperature-control mugs, the Ember only heats the liquid, not the cup itself. That means no chance of burning your fingers or lips. It also comes with a charging station that looks like a cute little coaster.
The best part, though, is the power of the app. You can remotely turn the heater on or off and choose exactly what temperature you want your coffee to heat to. The presets are great if you have different preferences for each of your hot drinks.
My ember was a gift, and it’s around every day to remind me of the person that gave it to me.

Gifts for Aspiring Home Baristas
Is there someone in your life that wants to improve their home coffee brewing?
I love having friends that are just getting into coffee because there are so many amazing gift-buying ideas. No budding coffee connoisseur has the time and money to get all the equipment for their coffee corner.
That’s where you, as their loved one, come in.
Coffee makers
For drip coffee: Ninja Hot and Cold Brewed System
Who it’s for: Anyone who like good drip coffee or imitation espresso drinks.
Ninja coffee makers are great for home baristas of any skill level. They are easy enough to be your first coffee machine, but they have a huge amount of customizability.
You can do single-cup brews or full carafes and even change the brew strength.
There are settings for iced coffee and cold brew as well as specialty coffee, which is a concentrated brew made to taste like espresso. Ninja has a ton of recipes for lattes and other espresso-like drinks using their specialty coffee setting.
Ninjas produce coffee that is much better quality than your typical drip coffee maker. The only way you’re going to get better coffee is with a machine like the Moccamaster, which I’ll mention in the premium gift ideas section. But in this price range, nobody beats Ninja.
For espresso: Mr. Coffee espresso and cappuccino maker
Who it’s for: Aspiring home baristas early in their espresso journey.
I’m going to save the expensive espresso machines for the premium gift idea section. Beginner and novice home baristas will get just as much use out of Mr. Coffee.
One of my favorite things about this espresso machine is the built-in milk tank and frother. That addition lets you froth milk for lattes, macchiatos, and cappuccinos without any extra equipment.
If you know someone that wants to recreate the entire Starbucks menu, this is the machine that they need.
For pod coffee: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Smart Coffee Maker
Who it’s for: Coffee lovers that value convenience but still want tasty coffee.
Convenience matters, and pods are the most convenient way to enjoy coffee. Keurig machines are probably the most famous of all pod coffee machines, and they’ve come out with some really cool advances recently.
The K-Supreme Plus Smart is Keurig’s first smart coffee maker. It introduces the BrewID system which recognizes the k-cups and tailors the machine’s settings based on coffee expert recommendations for the specific brew. Combine that with Keurig’s new MultiStream technology, and you get coffee that is super convenient and always delicious.
Basically, it’s the best coffee maker Keurig has ever made, and it’s the perfect gift for anyone who has ever wanted a Keurig or ever had one of Keurig’s older models.
You can check out my full K-Supreme Plus Smart review and my comparison of the K-Supreme vs K-Supreme Plus for all of the details and a couple of cheaper alternative options.
Related options:
- Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe (for pod coffee and espresso)
Budget pick: AeroPress
Who it’s for: People who want a convenient home or travel coffee maker and don’t need a full carafe.
The AeroPress shows that you don’t need to spend a ton of money to make amazing coffee. It brews coffee that is better than some of the most expensive drip coffee makers, and it costs a fraction of the price.
The AeroPress is a manual coffee maker, but it’s very easy to use and clean. In fact, it’s even quicker to use than a regular drip coffee maker and cleanup only takes a few seconds.
Since its release, it’s become a must-have for anyone wanting to explore premium coffee options without paying premium prices or learning complicated pour-over techniques.
The only real downside is that it only makes 1–3 cups at a time, and most AeroPress recipes only work for a single cup at once. This isn’t a machine to replace your carafe.

Coffee accessories
Coffee grinder: Oxo Brew conical burr grinder
Who it’s for: Anyone who wants to make fresh coffee at home.
Every aspiring coffee aficionado should have a grinder. It’s the only way to guarantee that your coffee grounds are fresh. It’s also a tough purchase for a new home barista to make, so they’ll thank you for buying them one of these fantastic machines (and maybe some beans to go with it).
There are a couple of critical points for buying a coffee grinder.
- Make sure it uses burrs, not blades. Blade grinders are cheaper, but they end up producing weak or bitter coffee because of their poor grind consistency.
- Make sure it has at least 15–20 grind size settings. More is always better, especially if you are buying for someone that uses multiple types of coffee brewers (drip coffee, French press, cold brew, etc.)
The Oxo has all of that and then some.
The stainless-steel burrs it uses produce a very consistent grind at any size. Its 45 grind size settings are enough for any brew method, and they are grouped in a way that makes finding your favorite setting incredibly easy.
Oxo’s grinder also has a lot of nice-to-have features like a tinted hopper to protect the beans from light that causes them to go bad faster.
This is the grinder that I use on a daily basis. It’s easy to use yet powerful and durable enough to last until you’re ready to advance to a more advanced grinder like the one in the premium section below.
Related options:
- Cuisinart DBM-8 Supreme Grind (budget option)
Water kettle: Fellow Stagg EKG electric gooseneck Kettle
Who it’s for: Pour-over drinkers or anyone that brews coffee manually.
If your favorite coffee fanatic already has an awesome grinder and coffee maker, it’s time to get creative. If they do any manual coffee brewing (pour-over, AeroPress, French press, etc.), they’re going to need a way to heat the water.
A great gooseneck water kettle could be the most important coffee accessory they never knew they needed.
The Fellow Stagg EKG has all the useful and cool features a pour-over fan could ever want, from a built-in timer to a wide range of temperature options. There’s even a Bluetooth-enabled variant for your tech-forward friends and family.

Premium Coffee Gift Ideas
Are you looking for something more than a bag of coffee beans?
These more expensive coffee gifts are perfect for weddings, graduations, and other celebratory events.
They are also the best gifts for coffee snobs, in case you really want to impress the most pretentious people in your life.
Baratza Virtuoso+ coffee grinder
Who it’s for: People looking for the best coffee grinder for any brewing method.
Baratza is one of the best coffee maker brands, with multiple Specialty Coffee Association awards to show for it.
The quality of every component in their grinders is far above and beyond the competition. The result is a grinder that will last a lifetime, and Baratza backs that up with their world-class support, including readily available replacement parts.
The Virtuoso+ is a sleek work of art, even by Baratza’s standards. Its commercial-grade burrs produce a grind quality that is perfect for everything from espresso to pour-overs to cold brew.
Its digital timer, backlit grounds bin, and relatively quiet motor even let you make fresh coffee before your housemates are up in the morning. That’s a pretty good reason to get this for your early-bird partner, right?
Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker
Who it’s for: People who want pour-over quality coffee without the work.
Automatic pour-over coffee makers are the future of specialty coffee brewing. No question about it—they’re that good.
Have you ever watched a barista make a pour-over? It’s a multi-step process where the grounds are pre-soaked (blooming), complicated pour techniques are used to completely cover the grounds with water, and the pour rate is carefully controlled to get the ideal flavor from the beans.
Now imagine if a machine could do all of that for you. That’s what the Technivorm Moccamaster does, and it’s every bit as good as a manual pour-over.
Basically, it’s like waking up every day to find a world-class barista waiting in your kitchen with a fresh pot of their best coffee. What coffee lover would say no to that?

Breville Barista Express espresso machine
Who it’s for: Aspiring home baristas who want to master espresso drinks.
That Mr. Coffee machine I mentioned earlier is great for those just getting into homemade espresso. However, anyone serious about lattes and cappuccinos will eventually want to upgrade to the Barista Express.
This machine looks and feels like a commercial espresso maker. It has everything you need, including a built-in burr grinder that delivers pre-measured doses and a manual frothing wand that can create beautiful microfoams and latte art.
The Barista Expresso is easy to use and clean, but it has all the power, features, and durability you need to brew every drink you’ve ever tried at a coffee shop.
The only thing that separates Breville from a true commercial espresso machine is the throughput rate, and I don’t think your loved one needs to make 240 shots an hour!
Philips 3200 Series fully automatic espresso machine
Who it’s for: Espresso lovers who favor convenience
Not everyone wants to become a master barista. Some of us just want to have delicious macchiatos available at the touch of a button. That’s where automatic espresso machines come in.
The 3200 Series makes four types of espresso beverages at the touch of a button. Courtesy of the frothing wand, you can even make delicious cappuccinos and milky lattes.
There are a few settings that you can use to perfect the drink, but the real claim-to-fame here is simplicity. You press a button, and you get your favorite coffee shop drink made from freshly ground beans. That’s the dream.
Gifts for Starbucks Lovers
Starbucks Gift Basket by Wine Country
Who it’s for: Starbucks mega-fans who love all their products.
This is the ultimate coffee gift basket for Starbucks fans. Like all the best gift baskets for coffee lovers, it has a little bit of everything, but the focus is definitely on Starbucks products.
Some of the inclusions, like the two coffee mugs, are pretty typical, but that’s only the beginning. It has hot cocoa, coffee, tea, cookies, and a whole lot more.
Even the most avid Starbucks fan will probably get to try something new, and they’ll definitely find something they’ll love in this basket.
Starbucks mug gift set
Who it’s for: Pretty much any Starbucks fan.
This one is great for a cute, simple gift. It has two stoneware mugs, one 14-ounce and the other 16-ounce. Both are microwave and dishwasher safe.
The set comes with both coffee and cocoa, two of the most popular Starbucks gift beverages. And yes, the cocoa has marshmallows—we all know that’s the important part.
Starbucks gift card
Who it’s for: Daily Starbucks drinkers.
Gift cards are an excellent alternative to cash gifts. They have enough specificity to show that you care enough to know what store would interest the recipient. At the same time, they give the recipient the ability to tailor the gift to their liking.
If you’ve ever seen your friend or co-worker carrying a Starbucks drink, you know they’d appreciate a Starbucks gift card. And they’ll be thinking of you the next time they get a delicious latte.
Love Is Spelled C-O-F-F-E-E
Coffee inspires so many positive emotions in coffee lovers. It’s about warmth, energy, and community. Coffee is no longer a commodity—it’s a culture.
The third wave of coffee brought specialty coffee and experiential coffee to the forefront. From the convenience of Nespresso machines and Keurig models to the precision brewing of automatic pour-over coffee makers, there’s something in modern coffee culture for everyone.
The popularity and positivity of culture combine to make coffee gifts perfect for every occasion and nearly every loved one in your life. There are few things as universal as the love of coffee.
Wow! These are great options for different kinds of budgets. My mother and I love coffee. We bond and talk every morning while drinking our daily dose of caffeine. Will definitely give her the Best Mom Ever mug. Thank you for this! ❤
Glad you liked it! One of the best things about coffee is that it’s a hobby for people of any budget, and I am happy that the list reflects that.
